World Cup Mania:the HUNGAMA begins!

Well,this has very much desperately,provoked me to post this entry.gosh,what a scorecard was that with more than 500+ odd runs scored with more than 5 overs to spare and what a treat it was to watch the 2nd innings display by the MEN IN BLUE!perhaps that now team India have endeavored something keeping the big occasion,the World Cup in mind.infact,talking about the World Cup,the ICC(Indian Cricket Council) Cricket World Cup 2007,one of the biggest sporting events in the world is coming to the West Indies in 2007.Matches will be held in March and April in Jamaica,St.Vincent,Trinidad & Tobago,Barbados,St.Kitts and Nevis, and St.Lucia, with the final scheduled for April 28 in Barbados and from now on,21 days 22 hours 47 minutes and 43 seconds only,is the time remaining for the world cup to commence.perhaps,hosting the Cricket World Cup 2007 will be a matter of huge prestige for a nation especially the West Indies.

coming back to the first link,team India are really on a high after clinching the series 2-1 in the 4 match Sri Lanka tour of India series and with this victory they can now position themselves as being one of the tough contenders for the big stage.earlier India thrashed the West Indian team in the recently concluded series in India but they are very much lagging behind in points in the table here,so watch out team India you are behind by a big margin!obviously,now the stage is set and all the teams have announced their 15 member squad.no wonder,Sourav Ganguly has also been included in the probables list and to say the least he will be there in the playing eleven too.perhaps,he came back with a vengeance and he has proved his worth!thanks dada,you are a worth mention here in my blog!

what more?after losing the series 2-0 against England,the former world champions have been facing even more disasters;Kiwis celebrated an historic clean sweep over Australia in the Chappell-Hadlee one-day cricket series 3-0(just check this link here) and making them lose the number one spot in the ICC rankings.holy shit!what is happening around?with the scores over 300 in all the 3 matches,the Kiwis have completely demoralised the world champions!perhaps Brett Lee has been ruled out of the world cup because of an ankle-injury.so fitness,really a concern for the Aussies now and making things really easy for other teams;but we can’t write off the World Champions so eaisly,can we?we can’t expect how they’ll perform in the World Cup matches.”Aussies”!yeah they are the world champions and they still deserve to be the world champions!BEST OF LUCK,Aussies!

WTF?

from the first HUTCH statement:

i loathe these service providers be it HUTCH,AIRCEL,AIRTEL,BSNL or whatever the network is!first my service provider,HUTCH limited the sms count to 100.i stood bemused and i even wondered what am i going to do with 100sms/day?!?!?!.i felt it was more than sufficient and moreover to tell you something,this has rapidly declined the number of forwards that i used to receive months before.perhaps only a handful of my friends put up a good conversation with me.obviously,weeks before i didn’t know what those *Special days were(regarding the first HUTCH announcement,and i received somewhat the same content a month before but with different charges) until i called up my friend and discussed it with him!guess what,it was on the 31st did i ever come to know that Ramzan was also a special day.my dad had a problem while checking his account balance on his mobile and told me that the usual sms count was found missing.as it was the new year eve i forwarded a lot of new year greetings to everyone i know and to my surprise when i checked my balance ,goodness me!!!i lost 30 odd Rs on that particular day and to whom should i complain?(my advice to HUTCH users;while checking your balance just make sure you have that sms count displayed.so check daily and confirm it whether it is a *Special day or not!)so the very next day i called up the customer care and reported the problem to him.the customer care executive i talked to was too young for his job;he was rendered confounded by the questions i posed and he rather stood bewildered.he was not experienced to attend the customer’s call or he was not in a position to answer either.so note one thing here,i never got a proper response from him nor did the other executives react properly to this situation either!

from the second HUTCH statement:

now sending *100# from my mobile i have something displayed like this:”get patriotic quotes and facts with Republic day Hutch Alerts.dial *123*26# to activate at Rs30 one time.validity 30/01/2007.Balance:Rs 39.15.Free sms left:100″.(oh,but today is the 26th of Jan,right?Republic day huh?but how did i get that sms count displayed here,i mean today?is it not a “*Special day” from the service provider’s perspective???now how did that happen?).Feel free!today is only the 26th of Jan and i have approximately 5 days left for my validity to expire.so nothing to worry about and the next remaining days my inbox will be flooded;i will receive messages from HUTCH telling me to recharge my account as soon as possible to enjoy exciting deals and uninterrupted services and a monthly call reminding me to do the same(i am very much pleased;atleast,they do something like this).till now i have received 2 of them but this might go on,and on and on till i recharge my account!as i am bankrupt now i will have to plead with my brother for a 330Rs recharge!

from the third HUTCH statement:

now if i recharge my account for Rs330 i will be getting a talktime of 130 odd Rs i reckon.now where is the remaining amount going?i know it is for the tax;but when you deduce that more than half of the amount is going elsewhere,you think this is something ridiculous?don’t you?and from that 130 odd Rs,Rs 30 is given away for my CT(Caller Tune).so Rs 100 left every month for me to make calls and besides the 25ps for sending messages on *Special days.and what if i include my daily rent for messages also?one month makes it another 30 bucks!so,this still reduces my talktime making it 70 odd Rs altogether!furthermore i had plans to go for MMS and GPRS activation on my mobile,so i called up customer care just to confirm the monthly rental charge and one of the customer care executives said Rs49/month and extra charges for downloads and other stuffs!(just see how these service providers invest a helluva money)!taking all this into consideration,if i pick up the receiver and if my mom finds me making calls from either of the landlines,she says:”Sarin,then for what reason do you own one phone?if this continues then i will have to surrender the land line connection“.BANG goes the receiver down!oh Christ,what an unexciting life this is?btw while discussing these issues i came across some interesting links! do check themm

i got up very early this morning and i found myself in the midst of something.i started wondering how stupid,girls really are?aren’t they?i was in a state of predicament or completely in a fix,whether to post this entry or not?anyway i have to discuss this with you.i even flipped a one rupee coin to see whether i really have to post this entry or not!HEADS IT IS!!!so here i am to post.
Part-1
this incident started when i was in my pre-degree 1st year and this lasted for a year or two,or three i reckon.well,it was the first day in my new school and everything was new to me,infact the ambience,to say it all.a horde of students were urged to enter a big classroom and me being one among them.it was one fine first day in school and i happened to meet a girl;the girl of my life and i was really stunned when i saw her for the first time and finally she was my class mate,with these qualities loaded in her one would really fall in love with her and i was no exception there.i should say,the first time i saw her i fell in love with her and i became really crazy about her.

things just went leisurely and at snail’s pace.i had much time to talk but i did nothing,perhaps nothing!2 years later,i thought everything ended there;but it was not so.there was something between me and her and we met again.so this time i never took things so easy;i tried to create some impression.somewhere on my way i met a close friend of mine and hurray my joy knew no bounds,i got her landline number from him and that was all sufficient for the time being.having the number in my hand i decided to make an attempt and this was the first time i was upto something like this.i say i have never been like this before.i dialed the number ********,then the phone rings TRING TRING TRING and in the third ring ’she’ picks up the receiver.goodness me!!!i felt happy that she picked up the receiver,so i starting posing some interesting questions.she felt it really weird and the reason was i did not have any idea what or how to ask.it was all a sycophancy and finally she asked my e-mail id before ending the call.it was pretty nervous but i managed the situation like one cool-headed guy.
Next day i e-mailed her typing in something and to my surprise i received a reply from her.days scrolled slowly and so was my love and after some months passed by,i felt as if there was a delayed response from her.from then my eternal love started to subside or because of some rumor saying she had some affairs with another guy.one fine day i received a mail stating that she was busy with her internals and even assured me that her inbox was piled with messages.there was an interesting line that caught my attraction.it was something like “im falling in love with” and then the continuation…i finally decided to give this a go.what would my stupid brain think of a statement like this?well,i said what came to my mind and told her not to take this seriously and i even kept repeating it very often in my reply.

fortunately the very next day i had time to check my mails in my college and i guess it was some lab hour.my friend Vinod was sitting beside me as i opened her mail i thought something was going to blow up!!!this was her reply:”Sarin,i have been tolerating this from the very begining.i tell you;this will be my last mail to you and it won’t take much time for me to spam your mails.(oh Christ,did i ever indiscriminately;send unsolicited,unwanted,irrelevant,or inappropriate messages in mass quantities or did i flood the internet with many copies of the same message or in addition did i become a nuisance to her,in anyway or the other?WTF?)……………..and then finally,apologies wont be accepted.bye forever!!!”to tell you something i expected something even more embarrasing.that was the end and now i am in a pathetic condition,having lost my dearest friend and even prepared a letter

i dont know any other way to express my deep heartfelt apology to you for what has happened between you and me.these days there are so many problems in so many other relations but ours doesnt have…!

Once an addict…always an addict?

This post is completely about the vetti world;ORKUT that is!Fortunately this title has nothing to do with me and i strictly admit i am not an addict,good Heavens!!!i aslo dont deny the fact that i was once an addict but now it has become such a monotonous thing.my first intention was to make friends all over the world and i am sick of all the shit ORKUT keeps telling “make new acquaintances and find others who share their interests”.bull shit!!!nothing of that sort happens!For starters,it improves marketing skills.Dont believe me? Well, just take a look around. Orkut is the best place to put up an advertisement of anything happening anywhere….that too for free!! You can put up announcements of special events in your city. Or you could swamp every scrapbook within reach with details of your college symposium.perhaps,the most sickening thing about this online community is the way people fill up their respective profile;”about me” in particular!it resembles something like this sort “guys please dont add me”,”guys not allowed”,”if you dont know me,please dont add me” and whatever,whatever the shit comes to thier weird mind!i stood perplexed what these girls were upto?is it because they dont know what to type in there or is it that they are fed up because of the anonymous friend request(s).note that,they have even started a community against these kind of people and a horde of members joining them too!

when you become a member note that you start talking to people in terms of scraps.also note that you may become accustomed to certain acronyms!to be frank these acronyms suck big time and if you are using it elsewhere make sure the person knows that word,if not he/she will start wondering what these words stand for and finally referring to the dictionary,where she ends up with a bruised mind or you may end up getting mocked by that person.the acronyms i have come across are btw,lol,wtf etcetera,etcetera.i also reckon the day,i used to wonder what these eventually stood for.the saddest part is that i went on searching for these words in scrapbooks and elsewhere to figure it out but i could make it!finally this ended when i searched it in the community column!gosh,there it was LOL,Laughing Out Loudly(lol). i felt really dimwitted and to my surprise members present there too!coming to btw,i thought it was between or something like that but it did not match the lines nor did it make any sense at all.finally WTF,as one would imagine it not only stands for what the fuck,but aslo Waving To Friends.surprisingly a community has aslo been put up with this name and obviously this goes out to all those who had a fuckin expansion of WTF!see how weird Orkut has become over these four years.

to be more precise,this online community came into existence in the year 2004 and i guess it is planning out its 4th anniversary in a grandiose manner:).coming back to the discussion,i strongly recommend you people not to use these acronyms for two main reasons.one because it is not long enough to use and the other because of the absurd feeling a lame person gets;obviously one may not know what strange things comes to your mind when one hears the word for the first time.to tell you one thing there is a friend of mine who is better known for the funny forwards he sends and one fine day i received one!it was one such forward that made me laugh terribly:),so i promptly sent a reply typing in lol.he could never figure it out and posed an interesting question,guess what?he asked me why i always kept barking(lol) for all the funny forwards that he sends?he even cursed me for that strange feeling of mine!Goddamn!!!whom should i curse?!?!?!.
moreover,this activity has become the talk of the town and now the people are keeping in touch with everyone by just scraps(even to the girl next door) and they use their mobile phones only for the sake of forwards!so all the talking done here!weird orkuttans:)

My desperate urge to blog

Gosh,I’m back!!!it has been a long wait indeed and it has been a month,since i have posted the last entry.my last entry was dated Nov 6,2006.I cant wait any longer,this is my first entry for December and i was really eager to post one!indeed,this post is absolutely about nothing,just for name sake,i should say.perhaps i should say i felt very relentless these days.the other day i had a terrible headache,it felt as if people were using sledge hammers and banging my head from the top,left and right.but now i feel much relieved.Infact i had several sleepless nights last few weeks or so.thank God,my semester exams have ended finally.lots and lots of interesting news from around the world,DNA tests proving Princess Diana’s driver was drunk on the night of her fatal accident,the Indo-US nuke deal – another hurdle,Shibu Soren sentenced to life,Navjot Singh Sidhu convicted,etc,etc,etc…and the most interesting of all,Dada back,and back with a vengeance.

Yes!,Sourav Ganguly or the Prince of Kolkotta or the Bengal Tiger or whatever you call him,is back in the Indian cricket team!perhaps,the former India skipper came back into the India Test squad after a gap of nearly nine months with the onerous responsibility of bringing Indian batting out of the rut,and being a temperamental player,he has often attracted controversy.now he is back in the team after 9 months gap.he was made to sit back for what reason?was it for sending a mail to Dalmiya that said he was not fit for the President post or for the slow over rate?well,what was the reason???i have no f***** clue.this is perhaps too much for a player of his calibre to be sent off from the team inspite of being India’s most successful cricket captain and giving him just one or two chances to prove himself.perhaps,compared to the string of single digit returns by some of his team mates,they were given a seemingly endless run ,but for what?so,Dada please prove your worth!

"Time for me to stay away"

Oh,good heavens!!!this will be my last post for this month and i cant keep updating my blog often(for this month),as i did earlier.perhaps this does not make me an idle blogger.three posts for this month,i feel it is sufficient.my semester exams are fast approaching and i think it is time for me to stay away`just before i leave let me tell something or the other so that this entry does good.university practicals are all over and time for those hopeless model examz.i hope these will last for another four days and time for me to prepare for my semester,and rain in Chennai making conditions worse,good heavens when will this end?certainly not expecting the one that hit Chennai last year!my place was indeed floating and boat was the only conveyance:)

Indeed,the mini WC has ended and thanks to a marvellous display by the Aussies,i kept telling someone,the fact that Aussies are the champions,there is nothing wrong calling a spade a spade,lol and what it takes to beat the mighty Aussies?the bloody beauties of the wonderful game,cricket.who on earth expected such a thing to happen to the Windies?it was such a dismal display by the Carribeans despite the excellent start by the openers.i feel pity on you;the Carribean team,but you should have fought really well.you have ample of time to beat them in the world cup and expecting a ding-dong battle between you people.so be well prepared to confront the mighty Aussies!

I still dont understand what makes me include these contents in this particular entry,perhaps now i feel relentless and i could say these added contents are still not that relevant.i thought of making it short and sweet but still i have got to add something or the other,right? and i just keep changing the templates often because i like to make my blog look different rather than the same eternal look!i have a lot of interseting entries to post,but what ever,i will be doing that in a month’s time.this entry is just to say how much i miss you,blogging.hoping to post some cheeky entries soon,catch you all a bit later!so do remember one thing,stay connected!!!

Right here,right now,this is just getting better!

This is my second post,for the second month,for the second blog and this is just getting better and better every day!i am just becoming obsessed with this new kinda activity,blogging!i feel really excited posting these entries but the one reason that makes me step back is,i dont have a big list of fellow bloggers who leave comments for my posts but i do get them only from a handful!i really thank you people for doing that!blogging,well,blog has got different definitions:a blog may be a online journal,a daily pulpit,a collaborative space,a political soapbox,a breaking-news outlet,a collection of links,your own private thoughts,memos to the world or simply a personal diary and with this list of definitions i feel dimwitted what different things these bloggers have,to post their entries in their blog.perhaps your blog is whatever you want it to be.forget the days when i used to visit other profiles(some good looking ones,girls indeed) at orkut,getting the fuckin impression that they too will visit my profile in return(lolz) ,but now that has become something like a monotonous thing.these days i am really getting interested in reading some blogs that has quality delighting the senses.perhaps this is making me stay glued to my comp than i usually do.indeed this something that can improve the way you express yourself.i now engage myself in what different ways i can improve the sight of my blog and what is not really working is the design of the differen templates available in blogger and it would be better if they add on some good ones.i will feel pissed off if i dont get a good template or a place where i can download them and get them well prepared!i guess my blog is half ready and you still can expect a lot of different art works for my blog!till now,it has been five months since i started blogging and this is certainly driving me crazy!!!!i feel a lot better blogging here and i love blogging,muaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!

It all began when my brother started spending more time in front of the computer than he usually does!so one fine day i decided to peep into the monitor and i was pretty amazed to see some photos at one corner and with some interesting communities below!i didn’t know what this was all about or what these communities were for,but i was all geared up to join em!this was nothing other than what you people call it,”ORKUT”.as you all know,it is an online community that connects people through a network of trusted friends.it was also a place which provided an online meeting for people to socialize, make new acquaintances and find others who share their interests.one good advantage of this online community is that your blog gets a good exposure and you can popularize your blog if you have one.in no time even i became a member of it and started orkutting.it was really wonderful joining those communities and what was really strange,was when i happened to see some of my friends in one of the communities in orkut and not one in twenty invited me to join this!this is really bad of you people.later,as i was engaged,filling up the profile,i happened to see something named webpage and this made me wonder what this was about and then later came to know about it.it was a place where you could insert the link to your blog and i never had one.this made me get more glued to my comp and started searching for one where i could create my own space.my search ended with one of Yahoo’s featured services,this was the 360 blog,very much creative when i saw some interesting pages.i settled for this and started inviting my friends.it was all fun writing re-views and uploading my photos into my album.i began posting entries in my blog and the most interesting part was when others leave comment(s) for your entry.later the gossip began,if you are using 360,your password will be hacked.Oh good heavens!!!i will be losing my friends i made at orkut if something of that sort happens!some started saying 360 was really a hopeless place for blogging.this made the condition still worse and psychologically i became really “obsessed” with blogging and at the same time became “monotonous” with orkutting.so it was time to leave and start another blog,but at the same time its really hard to remember these username and pasword!then,created one at blogspot and started comparing them!well,both of them have their own ways of blogging and i feel it is unnecessay to find fault in them for some reason or the other!perhaps,the saddest part is that,one of my friends claims that both 360 and blospot suck!here is the link http://balasundram@ampli5.org/!well,what are these blogs basically for?,they are just personal websites consisting of regularly updated entries displayed or online journals or a personal diary or call it whatever you like and not a place to distinguish them!

Team India’s recent display in the ICC Championstrophy-what went wrong???

ICC Championstrophy is all over for team India and it is something they cant even dream off,considering the present form,India are in right now.It all started right from the first match,the host played with England.it was all set to lose the first match but fortunately they made it happen at the end.certainly the men in blue dont deserve a place in the semi-finalz and hopefully they made a exit from the competition.thank God or else it would have made the competition look a bit eaiser if the Aussies had not delivered.just think of a situation where the mighty Aussies fail to make an impression no matter what the competition is,be it the world cup or the competitions like these!!!there is nothing wrong calling a spade a spade,right???Ahhhhh now the top four make it to the semi-finalz making it really interesting the rest of the matches in the competition.
I loathe the “MEN IN BLUE” for personal reasons!!!there are many questions that should be put forth and i dont know WTH is gonna answer all these????should there be any any further changes for the present side?should Greg Chappel the Indian coach,be removed from his post?should India’s most successful captain Sourav Ganguly be included in the playing eleven?should Pathan be promoted up the order as a pinch hitter?should Sehwag open the innnings for India?i guess Chappel should be removed but he has promised the selection committee that he will win th WC for India,that is to be held in West Indies in 2007,but how????i wonder how on earth those things will happen and if something of that sort happens itz some miracle!take my word the Aussies have a great chance of retaining the WC perhaps Windies are a better team now!
Another big problem that arises is that,there is a bunch of players who are best suited for test cricket but not the ODIs!is it that they dont know how to play the ODIs?or what is happening?why is Ganguly not included in the team?ever since he was removed from the team,he is trying out different things to impress the selectors,but everything in vain!well,these are the things that should be taken into account if India is dreaming to win the WC 2007.perhaps they lack players who can stand and deliver and not one in twenty has that spirit in them!either the Aussies or the Windies have a great chance of clinching the ICC Championstrophy title!hmmm alls well that ends well!!!
